American Idol Carrie Underwood Engaged to Mike Fisher
The former American Idol winner’s third album Play On debuted at number one this year, she was nominated for a Grammy and Country Music Award and as of this weekend, she’s engaged to be married to boyfriend Mike Fisher.
Fisher tells the Ottawa Citizen, “It’s true. We’re both obviously excited and very happy and so, exciting times for sure.” Fisher is a 29 year-old center for the Ottawa Senators.
Fisher popped the question on Sunday, Dec. 20 and no wedding date has been set yet. The romance began in early 2008, when Fisher went backstage at one of Underwood’ concerts, but the couple didn’t come out publicly as a couple until just under a year ago.
