Joan Cusack is an American actress

Joan Cusack is one of my favorite funny ladies. She’s daffy, neurotic in a non-annoying way, and is always a fabulous sidekick. (“Working Girl,” anyone?) But in this TV movie, she is the star. She plays the mom of a smart kid applying for college. But the student, played by Mae Whitman, is having nothing to do with the Ivy League schools. She wants to go to a low-ranking school. Mom (Cusack) is not pleased. Because Mom wants her daughter to go to school to meet the right husband. The film is based on the novel by the same name. It also stars Brigid Brannagh, who you’ll recognize from “Army Wives.
Joan Cusack is an American actress and comedian who has appeared in such films as Nine Months and Working Girl. She comes from a family of actors and entertainers, and has starred alongside her brother John in High Fidelity, Sixteen Candles and Grosse Point Blank. Cusack plays the mother of Isla Fisher, in the romantic comedy Confessions of a Shopaholic, which opens in U.S. theaters on February 13, 2009.
Joan Cusack Despite living in the shadow of her superstar younger brother, John, actress Joan Cusack carved out a substantial career with memorable supporting roles. But unlike her better known sibling, Cusack earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance in “Working Girl” (1988), which came hot on the heels of her breakout role in “Broadcast News” (1987).
