Pakistan will begin their ICC Champions Trophy campaign against the 2nd string West Indies in the 2nd game of Group A on Wednesday, 23rd September, 2009 at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, in a day night game starting from 14:30 local, 12:30 GMT, 6.00 PM IST, 6.30 PM Pak Time.
Pakistan will be without their captain Younis Khan, who is out due to injury and Shahid Afridi will lead the team. UmarAkmal wish to continue his form from the series against Sri Lanka while Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Malik will have extra responsibility.
West Indies on the other hand lost home series against Bangladesh and not in the competition without their key players Gayle, Chanderpaul and Sarwan.
