Manchester United and Major League Soccer announced Thursday that the storied English club will embark on another tour of the US this summer. Before the MLS All-Stars take their crack at the 18-time English champions, the expansion Philadelphia Union (July 21 at time TBD) and the Kansas City Wizards (July 25 at 6 pm ET) will get their shot. “Manchester United are among the most recognized and successful clubs in the world, and we are pleased to have them compete against our All-Stars and two MLS clubs this summer,” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said. “We are proud to once again present our supporters with one of the most compelling All-Star game formats in sports and we believe Manchester United’s North American tour will be a tremendous celebration of the sport following the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.” In the lead-up to the MLS friendlies, ManU’s North American travels will see them take on Scottish giants Celtic at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on July 16. “It’s great to be going back to North America,” Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said. “I enjoyed the last two tours there in 2003 and 2004 immensely.
